The Boerum Hill neighborhood has plenty of shopping and dining along its shady tree-lined streets in Brooklyn. Things to Do
Central Park is New York’s urban oasis with something for everyone — biking, boating, picnicking, yoga on the grass, ice skating, or visiting their zoo! A favorite summer event is the Shakespeare in the Park series and other summer concerts featuring top-name performers, a jazz concert series, and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
Near Central Park is the largest museum in the Western Hemisphere, the Metropolitan Museum of Art or “The Met.” Touring the Met is truly an international experience with its enormous displays of treasures from around the world spanning 5,000 years.
The Brooklyn Bridge connects Manhattan and Brooklyn with its beautiful stone arches spanning the East River. Today it’s designated as a National Historic Landmark and includes a shared bike/pedestrian lane where you enjoy great views of the Statue of Liberty. Enjoy a drink on the pier in Red Hook while taking in breathtaking views of Lady Liberty.
New York is home to a unique public park on an elevated historic railway on Manhattan's west side — The Highline. It’s filled with botanical delights, an open-air food court, art, and scenic gathering spaces.
The gardens blooming at Brooklyn Botanic Gardens are a sight worth seeing. Guided tours are available, and the gardens are a habitat for numerous birds, butterflies, bees, rabbits, and much more. The Brooklyn Museum is the second largest art museum in New York and hosts a First Saturday every month featuring live music, pop-up markets, and various programs.
